Art & Design Secondary School Curriculum Coordinator - start July 2026 We usually respond within a day Vietnam Australia School (VAS) is a leading provider of international bilingual education, educating almost 8,000 students across six modern campuses. We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Art Curriculum Coordinator to join our academic team, commencing July 2026. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a high‑quality, inquiry‑based Art programme for secondary learners across Years 6–12, ensuring alignment with Cambridge International. Role Overview The Art Curriculum Coordinator will lead curriculum design, instructional practice and assessment for the Art programme. Working closely with Heads of Department, subject teachers and senior leaders, the coordinator will ensure coherent progression, high standards of teaching and learning, and outstanding student outcomes. The post holder will promote scientific literacy, inquiry, and practical skills while supporting professional development and collaboration across the faculty. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Leadership : Lead the design, review and implementation of the Art curriculum to ensure alignment with Cambridge International requirements and clear progression between key stages. Teaching & Learning : Promote exemplary pedagogical practice, inquiry‑based learning and practical investigation across Art. This position will include a teaching requirement of up to 40% of the standard teaching workload. Assessment & Reporting : Develop and maintain robust assessment frameworks, moderation processes and reporting practices to monitor student progress and inform teaching. Staff Development : Plan and deliver targeted professional learning, mentoring and coaching for Art teachers to raise standards and share effective practice. Resource Management : Oversee the procurement, of learning resources and Art materials; advise on budgetary needs. Quality Assurance : Implement regular curriculum review cycles, lesson observations and data analysis to support continuous improvement across the faculty. Cross‑Curricular Collaboration : Work with colleagues in Art, Design & Technology and ICT to develop interdisciplinary projects and promote initiatives. Student Enrichment : Lead extracurricular Art activities, competitions and enrichment programmes to foster curiosity, participation and student leadership in science. Safeguarding & Safety : Ensure all practical work complies with health and safety regulations and that safeguarding policies are upheld in line with school expectations. Stakeholder Engagement : Communicate curriculum intent and student progress to parents, liaise with external partners and contribute to whole‑school academic priorities. Ideal Candidate Profile Curriculum Expertise : Strong knowledge of Art curricula (Cambridge IGCSE/IGSE, A‑Level). Teaching Experience : Proven track record of successful classroom teaching across secondary year groups, including experience preparing students for external examinations. Leadership & Collaboration : Experience leading curriculum initiatives, mentoring colleagues and working effectively within a multicultural school community. Assessment & Data Use : Confident in using assessment data to diagnose learning needs, inform planning and raise attainment. Communication Skills : Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to engage students, parents and colleagues across diverse backgrounds. Innovative Mindset : A reflective practitioner who embraces evidence‑based approaches, technology‑enhanced learning and continuous professional improvement. Personal Qualities and Professional Commitment Student‑Centered : A passion for nurturing curious, confident and resilient learners. Cultural Sensitivity : Respectful of diversity and able to work effectively with students and colleagues from varied cultural backgrounds. Integrity & Professionalism : High standards of professional conduct, reliability and accountability. Commitment to Safeguarding : A proactive approach to promoting the welfare and safety of all students. Essential Criteria Minimum of a Bachelor of Education and/or qualified teacher status (e.g. PGCE, QTS or international equivalent) and a strong honours degree in Art. iGCSE and A-Level experience. Substantial teaching experience with demonstrable impact on student outcomes. Experience of curriculum leadership, assessment design and professional development for colleagues. Right to work in Vietnam by the July 2026 start date, or willingness to complete necessary visa and relocation processes with support from VAS.
