Global Engineering Talent is supporting a leading global IT and digital-transformation business with the continued expansion of its AI capability in Tokyo.
The company delivers consulting, technology, system integration and managed services to major organisations across Japan and internationally. Its capabilities cover artificial intelligence, cloud transformation, data and analytics, cybersecurity, software development and infrastructure management.
We are looking for three AI Engineers to design and deliver solutions across Generative AI, image AI, predictive AI, machine learning and deep learning.
You will work alongside AI specialists, international engineering teams, affiliated organisations and technology partners to turn business requirements into practical AI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate and improve AI and machine-learning algorithms
- Train, fine-tune and optimise AI models
- Build Generative AI and RAG-based applications
- Develop supporting components including data-processing workflows, APIs and ML pipelines
- Deliver solutions across Generative AI, computer vision, predictive analytics and deep learning
- Work with clients and internal business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Collaborate with global teams, partners and offshore engineering resources
- Research emerging AI technologies and evaluate their practical application
- Conduct hands-on technical trials, prototyping and proof-of-concept development
- Help create reusable AI assets, frameworks and internal capabilities
- Apply AI to improve business efficiency, quality and decision-making
- Support solutions through development, testing and production implementation
- Contribute within Agile development environments
Essential requirements
- Business-level Japanese equivalent to JLPT N1
- Ability to conduct technical and client discussions in Japanese
- Approximately three or more years of relevant development or engineering experience
- Strong Python programming experience
- Practical knowledge of at least one AI discipline, including:
- Generative AI
- Machine learning
- Deep learning
- Computer vision or image AI
- Predictive modelling
- Natural-language processing
- Strong communication skills with clients, internal teams and technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with international and cross-functional teams
- Interest in researching and applying emerging AI technologies
Candidates with strong Python development experience and solid AI fundamentals may also be considered where they can demonstrate the ability and motivation to develop further.

- Generative AI, LLMs or AI agents
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation and vector databases
- Fine-tuning, reinforcement learning or model quantisation
- AI model evaluation and optimisation
- NVIDIA GPU technologies such as CUDA, NeMo or NIM
- Image recognition, object detection or other computer-vision applications
- Predictive modelling and data-analysis solutions
- AI system or solution architecture
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Production deployment of AI or machine-learning applications
- Data processing and ML pipeline development

- Previous professional experience in Japan
