About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our client’s (a large accountancy firm) Risk & Regulatory Consulting practice in the Cayman Islands.

As an Assistant Manager in the Risk & Regulatory Consulting team, you will support delivery and growth of the firm’s risk consulting practice across the Cayman Islands, Bahamas, and British Virgin Islands. This role focuses on anti-money laundering, enterprise risk management, internal controls design and testing, and remediation activities, while also supporting regulatory compliance and digital asset-related advisory where relevant.

Main responsibilities include (list not exhaustive):

  • Performing Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance reviews, gap analysis, and remediation exercises.
  • Support the delivery and coordination of advisory engagements across risk and controls, governance, internal controls design, testing and remediation, operational resilience, and third-party/vendor risk.
  • Conduct governance, risk and control assessments, and help support the design and implementation of enterprise risk management, governance structures, risk appetite and risk reporting.
  • Execute and oversee internal controls testing (design and operating effectiveness), gap analyses and remediation plans, including preparation of findings and recommendations.
  • Assist with regulatory mapping and interpretation for applicable jurisdictional requirements; prepare concise legislative and regulatory summaries to inform clients and internal teams.
  • Support project delivery for the duration of engagements, serving as the firm’s key contact for clients, developing and managing the project scope workplans/budgets, assessing risk, managing resources, and coordinating the work of the engagement team; including new client onboarding due diligence and risk management procedures.
  • Developing project plans and tracking a variety of client engagements, providing regular status updates and flagging areas requiring escalation or at risk of slipping.
  • Assisting in new business development including the preparation and presentation of client proposals, advisory offerings to the market as well as managing relationships with existing clients.
  • You may also be required to work in other areas of advisory where your skills may be relevant or adaptable.
  • You may also be required to travel, particularly within the Cayman Cluster and to other IFC Advisory locations and for training/conferences/meetings.
  • Continue to upskill, develop your industry knowledge, and maintain credentials for designations related to your work.

Please note that the job location is the Cayman Islands and would be an on-site role on a 2 year minimum contract (promotions and pay raises can occur during the contract). A relocation and work permit package would be provided.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s university degree.
  • CAMS certification and/or other Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering, or financial crime-related certification by an established (accredited) body.
  • Compliance experience of 4+ years in a professional setting with a Big Four or Top 10 accounting firm, financial institution, regulator, or risk consulting practice.
  • Practical experience with internal controls testing, risk management, governance and anti-money laundering.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, with limited supervision where warranted – strong team player and key contributor to securing and delivering client engagements.

Compensation and benefits

  • A competitive remuneration package that is commensurate with qualifications and experience and paid tax-free.
  • Relocation and work permit package.
  • Medical and pension perks.
  • Gain experience in one of the world’s leading offshore financial services centres.
