Advent Health Celebration Labor and Delivery Unit is a premier destination for obstetrical care. AH Celebration is a Magnet Recognized campus for nursing excellence. Just 28 miles south of Orlando, Celebration was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida. The Labor and Delivery Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 3,375+ births per year (281+ babies per month). The unit consists of 6 OB Triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, 2 OB ORs and 2 PACU beds. The adjacent units are a 10 bed Level II NICU, a 24 bed Mother Baby Unit and a 13 bed overflow MIU/GYN unit. The multidisciplinary OB team is supported 24/7 by on unit OB Hospitalists, Neonatologists/Pediatric Hospitalists and Anesthesiology. The OB team has received the AACN BEACON Award for Excellence recognizing top achievement in quality outcomes, patient experience and team engagement. AH Celebration is a Baby Friendly designated campus. Advent Health for Women is a key part of the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s PROVIDE initiative (reducing primary c-sections) and MORE (reducing maternal opioids). Our team is able to provide virtual classes and tours with our patients and individualized care with our Birth Experience team. Other highlights include the Professional Excellence Program, Perinatal Nurse Internship Program, active Unit Practice Council, and our Multidisciplinary Obstetrical Simulation Training. Schedule: Fulltime, 36 hours Shift: Night,7pm - 7am Primary Job Responsibilities: Monitor performance of nursing staff, provide feedback, conduct appraisals, and implement improvement plans to ensure clinical and professional standards are met. Foster professional growth by identifying training needs, organizing educational programs, and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and career progression. Resolve conflicts among staff promptly and effectively using mediation techniques to maintain a positive work environment and ensure team cohesion. Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care. Mentor and precept new staff by providing hands-on training, feedback, and fostering professional development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to lead the employees of their unit in the delivery of patient care Ability to lead performance improvement initiatives on their assigned unit Ability to think critically in relation to the operations of the unit and delivery of patient care Ability to manage the business of healthcare delivery on their unit, including assessing and managing financial practices/Productivity management Able to assist and mentor others in relation to the technology utilized on the unit Excellent clinical practice knowledge and is able to apply this knowledge to the unit setting Ability to influence relationships and behaviors in relation to meeting the needs of the unit Acts as a role model for professionalism on their assigned unit of employment Possess a broad nursing knowledge, leadership ability, accepts responsibility, exercises authority, and functions independently Possess insight for employee growth and development and the ability to do effective impartial counseling Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills, including experience with an Electronic Health Record) Education: Associate's of Nursing [Required] Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred] Work Experience: 1+ charge nurse or relevant leadership experience.
