Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical (MEP) Construction - COLUMBUS, OH RELOCATION

Our client, a reputable mechanical construction firm, is seeking a Mechanical Assistant Project Manager / Senior Project Engineer to join their team and support large-scale projects in Columbus, Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on complex mechanical builds while working closely with an experienced project management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in overseeing mechanical scopes, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and procurement coordination
• Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and field teams to ensure project goals are met
• Review and process drawings, submittals, and RFIs to maintain design and construction quality
• Track progress, update documentation, and help identify and resolve technical or field issues
• Uphold company safety, quality, and performance standards

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred 2+ years of experience in mechanical construction, ideally on large commercial, industrial, or institutional projects
• Strong understanding of HVAC and piping systems
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel and relocate to project sites nationwide
