A Day in the Life As an Associate Supply Chain Planner at Medtronic, you will support production planning and material coordination activities that help ensure products and components are available when needed. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, logistics, and demand planning partners to maintain production schedules, monitor material availability, and help address potential disruptions. This is a fully onsite position. Responsibilities may include: Support the planning, preparation, issuance, and control of production schedules to maintain an efficient flow of raw materials, components, and approved finished goods aligned with production requirements. Monitor work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and production priorities, providing timely updates to management and cross-functional partners. Identify potential material shortages, scheduling conflicts, or supply disruptions and escalate concerns to the appropriate partners to support timely resolution. Coordinate production needs by confirming material supply and demand, supporting equipment and personnel scheduling, and helping align available resources with manufacturing requirements. Prepare and maintain work orders or purchase requests for components and parts based on the master production schedule, shop capacity, and inventory requirements. Partner with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, logistics, and demand planning teams to coordinate schedules and support production execution. Help expedite the movement of parts and materials through move orders, stock transfers, shipping requests, and other established material-control processes. Maintain accurate planning and scheduling information to support informed decisions, operational consistency, and on-time production. Communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders regarding schedule changes, material constraints, inventory needs, and production priorities. Support continuous improvement efforts related to production planning, material flow, inventory management, and supply-chain processes. Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree with 0 years of experience. Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, business, logistics, engineering, or a related field. Internship, co-op, academic project, or other practical exposure related to supply chain, production planning, materials management, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, or manufacturing operations. Foundational understanding of production planning, material requirements planning, inventory management, or manufacturing processes. Experience working with enterprise resource planning or material requirements planning systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to organize, review, and interpret data. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels. Ability to identify potential issues, communicate risks, and seek guidance when appropriate. Interest in supporting continuous improvement and learning within a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
