Associate Veterinarian Location: Houston, TX Compensation: $120,000–$125,000 base salary + production Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time | Onsite Benefits: Full Benefits Relocation Assistance: Available Position Overview We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a collaborative, multi-doctor practice in Houston, Texas. This position offers exposure to a diverse caseload across general practice, urgent care, and emergency medicine , providing an excellent opportunity for veterinarians who want to expand their clinical skills in a supportive environment. The Associate Veterinarian will have access to advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, including ultrasound, video endoscopy, and surgical equipment , while working alongside an experienced clinical team. New graduates are encouraged to apply , with structured mentorship available to support clinical development and confidence. Experienced veterinarians seeking greater case variety and opportunities to mentor others are also welcome. Responsibilities Provide high-quality veterinary care across general practice, urgent care, and emergency cases. Perform physical examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and appropriate medical procedures. Perform surgical procedures based on experience and clinical competency. Evaluate patients and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans. Collaborate with veterinarians and clinical staff to provide consistent, high-quality patient care. Utilize available diagnostic and clinical tools, including ultrasound, video endoscopy, and surgical equipment. Participate in structured mentorship and ongoing clinical development. Provide mentorship to other team members when appropriate based on experience. Maintain accurate and complete medical records. Maintain established standards of patient care and support AAHA-level clinical standards. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and patient care. Work effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree required. New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply. Interest or experience in general practice, urgent care, and/or emergency veterinary medicine . Strong clinical judgment and commitment to high-quality patient care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, support staff, and clients. Commitment to continued learning and professional development. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform other physical activities required for veterinary patient care. Ability to lift and assist with patients as necessary. Ability to work in a clinical environment with varying activity levels. Regular attendance and punctuality required.
