Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is recruiting for a Dynamic Pediatrician to join its team. This Pediatrician will plan and carry out medical care for children from birth through adolescence to aid in mental and physical growth and development. This is an outpatient/ambulatory Pediatric Primary Care position. Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. We serve a variety of cultural and ethnic communities. We are committed to quality and compassion in addressing the healthcare needs of urban neighborhoods. A pediatrician will have to conduct examinations by earning the trust and cooperation of the child. The ideal candidate will possess thorough knowledge of children’s diseases and epidemiology as well as the established examination procedures for infants. A pediatrician must be patient and caring and able to foster long term trust relationships with the children and their parents. Responsibilities: Provide health care to patients including diagnosis and treatment. Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, makes diagnosis and orders appropriate and standard laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary Evaluates procedure results. Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient's plan of care. Provides patient education about underlying medical condition, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses and tailors instructions to patients' individual circumstances. Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance. Consults with appropriate specialists as may be necessary in the management of complex clinical cases. Prescribe medications and give detailed instructions for administration Administers medication/immunizations, suturing, managing wounds and infections, etc. Documents exam and progress notes. Provides referral letters as needed. In addition to office visits, the Physician will perform other tests and procedures as needed. Collects, monitors and reports on patient outcomes. Other duties as assigned by supervising physicians. Ensure HIPAA guidelines are followed at all times. Cadidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligibile in Pediatric and possess a valid New York State medical license and DEA. .
