Forward Deployed Engineer — Healthcare AI

Location: San Francisco or New York

Compensation: $150K–$215K base + equity

Work Style: Hybrid, 4 days/week in office

We’re partnering with a rapidly growing, well-funded healthcare AI company building production AI agents for some of the largest healthcare organizations in the country. Their platform automates complex patient workflows across voice, text, and chat — including scheduling, intake, referrals, outreach, and other administrative processes.

The company has raised $200M+ from top-tier investors, is experiencing significant revenue growth, and its technology already supports hundreds of millions of patient interactions.

The Role

They’re hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to own enterprise customer deployments from technical scoping through production launch and optimization.

You’ll work directly with healthcare organizations to understand their workflows and then build the integrations, backend systems, and AI-powered solutions required to deploy the platform successfully. This is a highly technical FDE role — closer to a customer-facing software engineer than a traditional Solutions Engineer.

What You’ll Do

• Own enterprise implementations from technical discovery through go-live
• Build production integrations with APIs, EHRs, scheduling platforms, telephony systems, and other third-party tools
• Develop custom backend and full-stack workflows around each customer's requirements
• Debug complex production and integration issues
• Deploy and optimize AI agents handling real-world patient interactions
• Build reusable tooling and infrastructure that accelerates future deployments
• Partner with Product and Engineering to turn customer needs into platform improvements
• Work directly with technical and nontechnical customer stakeholders

Ideal Background

• 1–6 years of software engineering experience
• Strong production Python experience
• Backend or full-stack engineering background
• Experience building APIs and integrating complex third-party systems
• Strong CS fundamentals and ideally a Computer Science / Computer Engineering degree
• Comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end
• Strong communication skills and genuine interest in working directly with customers
• Experience at a high-growth startup or in an FDE / Solutions / Implementation Engineering environment is highly valued
• Healthcare, EHR, telephony, or enterprise implementation experience is a plus, but not required
