Job Summary

Come and join our outpatient Physiotherapy team in Solihull Community MSK Services. We believe now is an exciting time to be part of a Community MSK Service, with multiple opportunities to provide outstanding and individualised care to patients within the community in which they live. We are a friendly and welcoming team and are passionate about providing high quality care through Evidence Based learning. In addition, we believe in maximising the potential of each member of the team based on their individual needs, and alongside National agendas such as FCP. As part of our service we run a 'Breaking Down Barriers to Exercise' service, an OA Knee off-loader brace clinic, a range of classes and injection clinics. We are committed to working with local partners to promote physical activity and address the specific health inequalities within the population that we serve.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

The role will involve assessing and treating self and GP referred patients across our 8 clinics within Solihull, supervising students, leading classes and contributing to service development initiatives. We treat adults and some paediatric patients. In the current challenging healthcare environment, the ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable, with excellent communication and team working skills. The ideal candidate will have had experience within MSK services enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients with varying needs in this speciality (MSK).

Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy
  • Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.
  • A Levels or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with Health and Care Professions Council

Experience

Essential

  • MSK experience (student or post graduate)
  • Student placements or qualified clinical work to have provided a broad range of experience in for example :
  • Respiratory
  • Stroke and Neurology
  • Musculo-skeletal Conditions
  • Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Experience as a graduate within an acute hospital setting or appropriate community setting
  • An ability to prioritise and organise own workload
  • An ability to delegate work to assistants and students
  • An ability to cope with a range of options, analyse, compare, find solutions and decide on a course of action
  • Demonstrate an interest in developing expertise within Physiotherapy
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude
  • Able to take a team lead role in the absence of a senior

Desirable

  • Relevant post graduate experience

Additional Criteria

Essential

  • An understanding of a range of physiotherapy practises routine and non-routine, requiring expertise within the field of physiotherapy.
  • An ability to modify treatment techniques and offer a variety of treatment options
  • An ability to provide highly developed physical skills
  • A portfolio / evidence of learning / CPD/ audit / R&D activity relevant to clinical work
  • An understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
  • An ability to cope with moving/ manoeuvring patients/equipment on a daily basis
  • An ability to frequently concentrate on patient assessments and treatments
  • An ability to cope with occasional exposure to distressing / emotional situations
  • An ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Commitment to a 7 day working and on call commitment as required
