About The Role Whitehaven Coal is seeking motivated and safety-focused Bench Hands to join the Drill & Blast team at Maules Creek Mine. Working alongside our experienced Drillers & Shot Firers, you'll play a vital role in supporting safe and efficient blast hole drilling operations across site. These positions are based in Gunnedah, NSW and involve working a 7/7 work pattern. What You’ll Do Assist shot firers with the safe and efficient operation of blast hole drilling activities Support drill relocations, setup and preparation of drill sites Maintain a clean and organised work area while identifying and reporting hazards or equipment defects Work collaboratively with the Drill & Blast team to achieve production targets while maintaining the highest safety standards What You’ll Bring Experience in mining operations or a similar heavy industry environment (Bench Hand experience highly regarded) Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment Contribute to a positive safety culture & demonstrate visible safe working practices Adherence and participation towards our “STRIVE” values (Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, Value, Excellence) Why Whitehaven Coal?
