Plant/Site: JBS Townsville Plant Req Id: 15995 Date Posted: 11 Aug 2026 About the Role JBS Townsville is currently seeking a motivated and experienced By-Products / Rendering Supervisor to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Rendering Department by ensuring the efficient processing of animal by-product materials into tallow, grease, blood meal and high-protein bone meal. In this role, you will coordinate labour resources to support daily production requirements while ensuring the safe and effective operation of rendering equipment. You will oversee departmental processes to maximise by-product recovery, organise transport logistics and sales activities to optimise storage utilisation and monitor plant performance to ensure operational efficiency. You will also be responsible for managing employee performance, maintaining accurate workforce and overtime records for payroll purposes, and ensuring all relevant quality assurance and production documentation is completed and actioned appropriately. Working closely with maintenance teams, you will identify and follow up on plant maintenance requirements to minimise downtime and maintain reliable operations. A strong focus on hygiene, product quality and food safety will be essential, ensuring the department consistently meets operational and compliance standards. About You Previous experience within the meat industry (essential) Previous leadership or supervisory experience highly regarded Experience training and developing team members The ability to implement process improvements to ensure efficient and cost-effective departmental operations Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and quality assurance systems Demonstrated computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook The ability to remain composed under pressure while maintaining a strong customer service focus Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks High attention to detail The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment A proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Why Join JBS?
