Chassis Technician

Job Summary: Completes troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on chassis products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians We are looking for a talented Chassis Technician to join our Distribution business in (Coburg, OR). Will make an impact in the following ways: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and complex repairs on chassis and related vehicle systems. Complete preventative maintenance and inspections on chassis components to ensure equipment reliability and performance. Utilize electronic diagnostic tools, service manuals, and other technical resources to accurately identify and resolve issues. Complete service documentation, work orders, warranty claims, and repair records accurately and timely. Coach and support junior technicians and apprentices by sharing technical knowledge and best practices. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, tools, and equipment. Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures while promoting a strong safety culture. Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and expand technical skills. In order to be succesful in this role you will need the following: Advanced knowledge and experience with chassis systems, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. Ability to perform complex troubleshooting and repairs using electronic service tools and diagnostic software. Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fuel, cooling, exhaust, aftertreatment, driveline, and control systems. Experience documenting repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance activities in service management systems. Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to less experienced technicians. Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution preferred. Valid driver's license required. CDL may be required upon hire. Federal law requires CDL holders to be at least 21 years of age. Apprentice Trained Technician certification preferred. Work well in a team environment, - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution. Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with chassis products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred) Compensation Benefits: Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
