Known for its mining history and ongoing production of copper, silver, lead and zinc, the city now offers diverse opportunities beyond the industry. It’s a vibrant, family‑friendly community with over 56 cultural backgrounds, strong ties to the Kalkadoon and Indjilandji peoples, and plenty to enjoy — from the Mount Isa Rodeo and underground mine tours to fishing, hiking and local festivals.

With its own airport and easy connections to Townsville and Brisbane, Mount Isa provides excellent amenities and a welcoming lifestyle. As part of the Mount Isa CSSC, you’ll become an integral part of the community and contribute across many aspects of the Child Protection Continuum.— and working here also means you’ll receive additional regional incentives.
