CHPP Maintenance Planner

Anglo American Australia In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in manganese, as well as copper exploration projects under way in North West Queensland. Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to assist the CHPP team with developing mechanical maintenance strategies, arranging weekly down days and managing secondary work orders. With extensive interactions across various departments, you will require solid written and verbal communication skills, enjoy solving maintenance problems and be an effective team player. To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a capable, friendly and professional team to achieve business objectives. You will also enjoy the challenge of maintaining a CHPP, implementing preventative maintenance and managing small projects. You will possess at least three (3) years’ experience in a mechanical planning function. SAP experience is highly desirable. To be successful you will have the following: You will need to possess mechanical trade qualifications, Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Maintenance Management, as well as experience in large open cut mining operation, specifically the maintenance of fixed plant. Previous planning experience, and a well-developed understanding of fixed plant maintenance strategies. Ability to focus on long-term solutions, ongoing innovation, maintenance costs, workplace efficiencies. Knowledge in Microsoft Project, SAP, and downtime reporting are highly desirable.
