An exciting vacancy has arisen within the Anaesthetic Department based within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. We are looking to recruit an experienced individual who is motivated, organised and enthusiastic, with excellent communication, negotiation and persuasive skills.

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and provision of the leave management of over 100 members of medical staff. In addition, learning how to build & manage the daytime and oncall rotas using the software programme, CLW Rota and allocation of staff. Attention to detail is essential. The scope of these rotas plan the anaesthetic staffing across Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Royal Aberdeen Children’s hospital & Cornhill hospital.

The successful candidate will work closely alongside the current Rota Administrator (Band 5) to learn the craft of how this dynamic system underpins the running the biggest Department in NHS Grampian. The aim of this role is to succession plan to replace the current post holder once they retire. The role is complex and requires significant lead in time to build these skills. Knowledge of creating and managing rotas would be highly advantageous. The ability to prioritise, multi-task and problem solve are also essential skills.

This is a challenging and varied role, which will offer job satisfaction to the ideal candidate. Applicants are asked to use their application to demonstrate their experience in relation to the essential and desirable criteria within the person specification.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
