Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer Job Description This Senior-level engineering position focuses on leading complex capital and operational projects, particularly in CCR landfill programs, environmental compliance, and utility infrastructure. The role involves managing high-complexity projects through their full lifecycle, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement while mentoring staff and providing technical direction. Responsibilities Develop and manage work plans, budgets, schedules, contracts, and technical documentation. Oversee day-to-day compliance and operations at landfill facilities. Serve as a technical representative with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and the public. Develop and finalize reports and work plans that consider short and long-term objectives. Coordinate departmental project work plans and manage them through completion. Lead the development of work plans and monitor actual progress, taking corrective action as necessary. Complete status reports for all work assignments and keep management informed on progress. Act as a technical representative in meetings with public, vendors, contractors, and other utilities. Successfully manage complex assignments routinely. Train and develop less experienced engineers. Provide work direction to other staff/contractors on projects. Analyze data and make recommendations and/or decisions. Maintain and approve technical records such as drawings and databases. Oversee and/or complete preparation of estimates, including cost, work order, and schedules. Ensure thorough knowledge of all relevant procedures, specifications, and applicable codes, regulations, and standards. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors in carrying out assignments. Provide engineering assistance for Member Cooperatives. Create corporate standards and specifications related to expertise. Oversee EKPC's CCR Landfill Management Program, including capacity planning, engineering design, and project management. Monitor daily operations at all CCR facilities to ensure compliance with permit requirements. Develop and administer contracts, manage inquiries, and oversee project execution of new landfill cells. Perform all work safely and in a timely manner. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Willingness to obtain Landfill Manager certification from Kentucky Energy and Environmental Cabinet. 7+ years of professional engineering experience with technical delivery and project coordination responsibilities. Experience with successful execution of civil, mechanical, and electrical projects. Thorough understanding of Critical Path management for project scheduling. Experience with CADD, Primavera, and Microsoft products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (ABET) preferred. PE License preferred, with plans to obtain if not already held. Regulatory knowledge of CCR, solid waste management, and landfill gas beneficial. Work Environment The position is on-site at headquarters in Winchester, KY, with a flexible team. Standard hours are 8-5 PM, but overtime may be required based on project phase and deadlines. The role involves travel to various sites from HQ, which may include overnight stays. Personal protective equipment is required as appropriate. Relocation packages are available, and the start date is within three weeks after receiving an offer. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Winchester, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $198000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. *Great benefits, Smaller Cooperative (700 employees) internal engineering do full scope projects.
