The Clinical Pharmacist – 7 On/7 Off, Nights supports a growing community hospital with an integrated pharmacy practice model and a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration. Working closely with pharmacy technicians, providers, and other healthcare team members, this caregiver provides both clinical and operational pharmacy services, including reviewing patient medication profiles, verifying medication orders, supporting inpatient pharmacy operations, and overseeing sterile and non-sterile compounding activities. The pharmacist also collaborates with providers to optimize medication therapy while ensuring medication safety, regulatory compliance, and operational standards. A caregiver in this position will work a 7-on/7-off overnight schedule, working 72 hours while being paid for 80 hours, with the additional 8 hours paid as SP1. The rotation runs from Wednesday night through Wednesday morning. Caregivers will work 9:00pm to 7:00am Wednesday night through Saturday morning and Monday night through Wednesday morning, with 8:00pm to 7:00am shifts on Saturday and Sunday nights. Weekend and holiday coverage is built into the rotation. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services. Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders. Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations. Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients. Provide cost-effective care. Be accountable for drug use policy adherence. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy. Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire. Individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire. Individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - or certification obtained within one year of hire. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Board certification. Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience. Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area: post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) Prior experience in an ER Epic and Pharmacy Keeper experience Knowledge of regulatory requirements Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
