The Role We are seeking a Float Clinical Pharmacist to provide clinical and operational support across multiple inpatient service lines, helping ensure safe, effective, and high-quality medication use for our patients. In this role, you will apply your broad acute care knowledge while developing deeper familiarity with a wide range of specialties and care environments. On a day-to-day basis, you will: Provide clinical pharmacy services across a variety of acute care and inpatient practice areas based on operational and patient care needs Review, verify, and manage medication orders with a s trong emphasis on patient safety , evidence based practice, and therapeutic optimization Serve as a clinical resource to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other members of the care team Identify , prevent, and resolve medication related problems for patients with complex and evolving clinical conditions Support transitions of care through medication reconciliation, monitoring, and patient specific recommendations Contribute to operational excellence by maintaining continuity of pharmacy services across units and shifts What an average day looks like: No two days are exactly the same . You may support a medical or surgical unit one day and transition to a different inpatient service the next, collaborating with new teams while applying consistent clinical standards. Minimum Qualifications – Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or Pharm. D Degree required. Experience: PGY-1 residency required or equivalent hospital experience. (3.years). PGY-2 residency is preferred for specialty areas. Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy. License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider. BLS certification required Physical Demands – Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. Onboarding Requirements Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. The pay range for this role is $64.37 - $89.07 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
