What You’ll Do
Hospital pharmacy offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where collaboration and precision are key, and your decisions will directly impact patient outcomes. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll work closely with Clinicians, Nurses, and Technicians, manage specialised medications and contribute to patient care from admission through to discharge.
Occasionally, you may be required to work at Slade Pharmacy Kempsey, located within Kempsey District Hospital, approximately a 42-minute drive from Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
- Dispensing and supplying medication and pharmacy products
- Coordinating patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
- Supporting patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
- Educating and advising staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the quality use of medicines
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for pharmacists who thrive in a collaborative clinical environment and bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine patient-centred approach to care.
We’re building a well-rounded and supportive team. Experience in oncology is highly regarded, but not essential. Comprehensive training and ongoing mentorship will be provided by our experienced team to support your growth and success.
Essential requirements:
- Current general AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist, with no restrictions on practice.
- Permanent Australian working rights.
- Personal Indemnity insurance.
Desirable skills & experience:
- We’re especially keen to hear from candidates with oncology experience, though full training will be provided for the right candidate.
