Position Specific Description The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating community programs and events in counties FPL serves. Community programs include volunteer events, employee engagement, public speaking, and overall community outreach. Skills include event management, public relations and public speaking. Ability to work collaboratively. This position will be based in Brevard County, but have responsibility for statewide programs and events, requiring travel. Manage community involvement programs Manage multiple agreements, ROI on such agreements Event planning to include conference planning and management Provides research, analysis, and planning assistance for community involvement efforts Strong presentation skills Major sponsorship support Manage competing priorities to meet deadlines Required to participate in emergency operations Travel as needed throughout the region and to the corporate office Performs other job-related duties as assigned Job Overview Employees in this role develop and execute community relations plans in support of the company's community involvement strategy by identifying, evaluating, and managing local community issues in a manner that builds or enhances positive relationships with community organizations and key stakeholders.
