The Construction Management Coordinator provides technical, administrative, and coordination support for subcontracted construction activities affecting Laboratory structures, systems, components, and infrastructure. Working within LLNL’s Project Management Office and in collaboration with Subcontract Technical Representatives, Construction Managers, Procurement, Accounts Payable, project teams, vendors, trades, users, and subcontractors, this position supports the execution and administration of the Mission-Driven Craft Agreement, Common Institutional Craft Support and other construction subcontracts. Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractor activities, tracking project requirements and deliverables, supporting invoice and payment processes, maintaining accurate project records, analyzing project data, preparing performance reports, communicating construction status, and following up on action items. The position also supports process improvements and administrative oversight to promote safe, efficient, and reliable project delivery. While not independently responsible for managing subcontract performance, the coordinator provides the documentation, reporting, communication, and follow-through necessary to support successful construction projects across the Laboratory. The Project Management Office (PMO) provides LLNL with engineering, design, estimating, construction, and project management services. PMO provides infrastructure services to enable cutting-edge research and development in the areas of defense technologies, global security, laser science, bioscience, and more. PMO offers cradle to grave infrastructure services to achieve reliable delivery of completed projects with priority on safety, collaboration, and a workforce working toward our shared vision. You Will Coordinate construction-related activities, including EAM, badging, security escorts, Facility Activity Schedules, third-party inspector releases, OAC meetings, safety, quality, and other construction-phase meetings. Maintain construction logs, meeting notes, status materials, supporting records, and documentation related to the issuance and closure of third-party resources for support contracts. Track construction approvals, deliverables, action items, milestones, and due dates, and ensure appropriate follow-up. Provide planning recommendations and administrative support to Construction Managers. Attend project team meetings and report on strategic construction milestones, project status, risks, and outstanding actions. Facilitate communication among Construction Management, Project Management, vendors, trades, users, and support organizations. Use construction metrics and data collection to support reconciliation and allocation of project costs based on each project’s schedule of values. Compile construction-related information for regular updates, summaries, audits, management reviews, and status reporting. Interact with team members, users, and managers to define end-to-end process goals for construction projects and document findings, requirements, and expectations. Work with the Construction Management Division Leader to analyze construction safety trends and develop metrics to measure division safety compliance and performance. Perform other duties as assigned. In Addition, at the E01.3 Level Collect, analyze, validate, and interpret project data, including budgets, schedules, scope, costs, durations, safety trends, completion status, timekeeping, and closeout compliance. Develop specialized reports, dashboards, tracking tools, charts, presentations, and construction performance metrics for Division, Department, Directorate, and senior leadership. Identify and resolve data discrepancies, independently address areas of concern, and coordinate follow-up with Construction Managers, Section Leaders, and Department Heads. Improve construction coordination workflows, business processes, reporting practices, and information flow. Annually review and update procedures, work instructions, and forms to ensure alignment with current operational and regulatory requirements. Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. Bachelor’s degree in relevant functional discipline or the equivalent combination of education and related construction and safety experience. Experience in a construction and safety environment. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members. Experience planning own work and prioritizing tasks. Advanced computer skills using related software for project management on-line software, spreadsheets, word processing and graphics necessary to develop and implement specialized reporting requests. Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills to anticipate, identify, and independently recommend appropriate actions and solutions to complex problems. Qualifications at the .3 level: Demonstrated ability to ensure team performance, deliver assigned work, and achieve agreed-upon goals and milestones in alignment with project and division objectives. Experience researching, gathering, and analyzing information for complex reports, audits, and presentations, including synthesizing data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders. Experience implementing and working within an Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), including adherence to policies, procedures, risk controls, and continuous improvement processes. Demonstrated ability to oversee the delivery, quality, and completeness of assigned construction scopes; maintain compliance with plans and schedules; and identify and communicate issues that may affect safety, or schedule. Qualifications We Desire Knowledge of construction projects, operations, terminology, and management software. Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera. Experience using AI tools to support project coordination, analysis, and reporting. Experience working at DOE facilities, with knowledge of applicable DOE requirements for quality control and procurement. Familiarity with LLNL’s Integrated Safety Management System. Experience using drones and 3D scanning technologies for construction inspections, surveying, progress monitoring, and documentation. Experience gathering, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data, along with familiarity with time-and-materials agreements, including tracking costs, labor hours, materials, and contract performance. Pay Range $95,820 - $140,712 Annually $95,820 - $117,312 Annually (E01.2) $114,900 - $140,712 Annually (E01.3) This is the lowest to highest salary range in good faith we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
