Job Description – Consultant Emergency Medicine Position Consultant – Emergency Medicine Location United Arab Emirates Employment Type Full-Time About the Opportunity A reputed and well-established hospital in the UAE is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join its Emergency Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute and critical conditions, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a high-volume hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Manage a broad range of medical, surgical, traumatic, and acute presentations. Lead the initial assessment and resuscitation of critically ill and injured patients. Perform and supervise emergency procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine practice. Manage patients requiring advanced airway management, cardiovascular stabilization, trauma care, and emergency interventions. Coordinate patient care with specialists, intensivists, surgeons, and other multidisciplinary teams. Determine appropriate disposition, including admission, transfer, observation, or discharge. Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and handover. Participate in emergency department protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and patient-safety programs. Provide clinical guidance and supervision to junior physicians and other members of the emergency care team. Participate in teaching, training, and continuing professional development activities. Contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical governance and evidence-based emergency care. Respond effectively to emergency and resuscitation situations within the hospital. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, UAE healthcare regulations, and professional standards. Qualifications & Requirements Medical degree from an accredited medical school. American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine OR Canadian Board Certification in Emergency Medicine . Candidates with equivalent internationally recognized specialist/consultant qualifications may be considered subject to regulatory eligibility. Significant post-board/post-specialization clinical experience in Emergency Medicine. Current or eligible for registration with the relevant UAE health authority. Experience working in a reputable, internationally accredited hospital is highly desirable. Strong experience in emergency resuscitation, trauma management, critical care, and acute medical presentations. Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, multidisciplinary Emergency Department. Strong commitment to patient safety and quality of care. Preferred Experience Experience in a tertiary-care or academic hospital environment. Experience managing high-acuity emergency and trauma cases. Advanced resuscitation and emergency procedure experience. Previous experience in the Gulf/UAE healthcare system is an advantage. What We Offer Competitive salary package.
