Are you ready to shape your consultant career in a place where clinical excellence, innovation and quality of life come together?
Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join our brilliant, professional and welcoming team at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, with close cross-site collaboration with colleagues at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Whether you are embarking on your consultant career or looking for your next challenge, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact.
We offer an exceptional recruitment package, including funded visits to Devon, bespoke relocation support for you and your family, and a very significant financial recruitment and retention allowance.
More detail about the role
You will work across the full scope of obstetrics and gynaecology, including antenatal outpatient care, outpatient hysteroscopy and general gynaecology operating and labour ward, while helping services continue to evolve for patients and staff.
We actively welcome special interests and will support you to shape your job plan, develop clinical services, contribute to teaching, research and quality improvement, and explore innovations that make care safer, smarter and more responsive. Clinicians across the Trust are already working with developments such as Epic, ambient voice technology, virtual care, benign robotic surgery and surgical excellence, supported by investment in modern facilities including a new hybrid theatre and surgical hub.
In return, you will join one of the UK’s largest integrated healthcare providers, serving more than 615,000 people across Devon, with strong senior clinical and executive support. You will also benefit from an enhanced recruitment package, including bespoke relocation package employment guidance for your family members and a very significant financial recruitment and retention allowance. Alongside this exceptional professional opportunity, you’ll enjoy everything Devon offers: dramatic coastlines, two national parks, vibrant communities, excellent schools and countless opportunities to recharge outside work.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise and be on, or within six months of entry to, the GMC Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We warmly welcome established consultants and senior trainees completing CCT or Portfolio Pathway.
