This role sits within an organization managing employment-based immigration programs to support a growing workforce. The Corporate Immigration Specialist serves as the internal subject matter expert on U.S. immigration matters, partnering with employees, leadership, outside legal counsel, and government agencies to ensure compliance while supporting a positive employee experience throughout the immigration process.

What You'll Do

The Corporate Immigration Specialist acts as the primary internal resource for employment-based immigration matters, advising employees, managers, and business leaders on visa sponsorship, work authorization, and permanent residency processes. This person manages the full lifecycle of employment-based immigration cases, including nonimmigrant visa petitions, renewals, amendments, extensions, work authorization applications, and employment-based green card sponsorships, working closely with outside immigration counsel to prepare, review, submit, and track filings. The role includes monitoring visa expirations, work authorization deadlines, travel requirements, and case milestones to maintain uninterrupted work authorization and regulatory compliance, as well as maintaining confidential immigration records in line with company policy and legal requirements. This person ensures compliance with federal immigration regulations, including I-9 requirements and E-Verify, and conducts periodic audits of immigration files to identify compliance risks. The Corporate Immigration Specialist also collaborates with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Tax, and Global Mobility to support hiring initiatives, employee transfers, and international assignments, and builds tracking systems and dashboards to monitor case status and compliance metrics. Additional responsibilities include preparing employee communications and training materials on immigration processes, supporting onboarding for international employees, and staying current on changes to U.S. immigration law to advise leadership on business impact.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience handling employment-based immigration matters
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. employment-based immigration law, including nonimmigrant visas, PERM labor certifications, employment-based permanent residency, and I-9 compliance
  • Experience working directly with immigration attorneys, government agencies, and cross-functional corporate teams
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and case management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex immigration matters simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an immigration paralegal supporting a corporate environment
  • Experience building or maintaining case tracking systems, dashboards, or compliance reporting tools
  • Experience supporting global mobility or international assignment programs
