The Role Maple Bloom International School is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Curriculum Coordinator to lead the development, implementation and evaluation of a coherent curriculum from KG through to Year 12. The successful candidate will ensure clear progression between Early Years, Primary, Lower Secondary and the school's developing upper-secondary provision. They will support teachers in delivering consistently high-quality learning while ensuring that curriculum planning remains aligned with Pearson Edexcel expectations and the school's educational vision. This is a hands-on academic leadership role requiring an excellent understanding of curriculum design, teaching and learning, assessment, teacher development and quality assurance. The Curriculum Coordinator will work closely with the Head of School, phase leaders, subject leaders and teaching teams to establish consistent academic standards across the school. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for curriculum development from KG to Year 12. Ensure coherence, continuity and clear progression across Early Years, Primary, Lower Secondary and developing upper-secondary provision. Align curriculum planning with the British educational pathway and relevant Pearson Edexcel frameworks. Support the implementation of play-based, child-centred learning within Early Years. Oversee the effective delivery of Pearson Edexcel iPrimary and iLowerSecondary programmes. Support the school's continued development towards Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and appropriate post-16 pathways. Develop clear curriculum maps, schemes of work, progression documents and long-term planning across all phases and subjects. Ensure that curriculum expectations are clearly communicated to teachers, students and parents. Promote inquiry-based and project-led learning across the school. Encourage meaningful cross-curricular connections and opportunities for students to apply their learning in real-world contexts. Embed creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, digital literacy and problem-solving throughout the curriculum. Strengthen the integration of global citizenship, sustainability, cultural awareness, character development and student wellbeing. Work with phase and subject leaders to ensure appropriate curriculum breadth, balance and academic challenge. Ensure effective progression in English, mathematics and science across all year groups. Support the development of computing, STEM, robotics, research, creative arts and design across the curriculum. Review curriculum content regularly to ensure that it remains relevant, internationally minded and responsive to the needs of Maple Bloom's students. Teaching and Learning Promote consistently high standards of teaching and learning across the school. Establish a shared understanding of effective teaching within Maple Bloom's international and multilingual context. Support teachers in planning engaging, appropriately challenging and well-differentiated lessons. Model effective classroom practice and provide practical guidance to teaching teams. Undertake regular lesson observations, learning walks, book reviews and curriculum reviews. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help teachers strengthen their classroom practice. Encourage teachers to use a range of teaching approaches that develop curiosity, independence and deeper thinking. Ensure that learning is appropriately adapted for students with different abilities, language backgrounds and additional educational needs. Work collaboratively with SEN and EAL colleagues to promote inclusive curriculum planning and classroom practice. Support the effective use of technology to enhance teaching, learning and assessment. Assessment and Student Progress Develop and maintain a consistent whole-school approach to assessment. Ensure that assessment practices align with Pearson Edexcel curriculum expectations and provide reliable information about student attainment and progress. Support teachers in using formative assessment to identify learning needs and plan appropriate next steps. Oversee the use of baseline, internal and standardised assessment information across the school. Analyse student performance data to identify strengths, gaps and priorities for improvement. Lead regular progress-review meetings with phase leaders, subject leaders and teachers. Ensure that students who are falling behind receive timely and appropriate support. Identify opportunities to extend and challenge higher-attaining students. Support the development of effective reporting systems that provide parents with clear and meaningful information. Help prepare the school for future external assessments and examinations as its Secondary provision expands. Staff Development and Collaboration Plan and deliver professional development linked to curriculum, assessment and teaching priorities. Provide induction and curriculum guidance for new teachers. Coach individual teachers and support subject and phase leaders in developing their leadership skills. Facilitate collaborative planning and professional dialogue across year groups, departments and campuses. Promote the sharing of resources, successful practice and innovative teaching approaches. Support teachers who are new to Pearson Edexcel or international education. Develop a professional culture based on reflection, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. Work closely with school leaders on staffing, timetabling, curriculum resourcing and academic priorities. Quality Assurance and School Development Contribute to the school's strategic and academic development planning. Establish systems for monitoring curriculum implementation and measuring its impact on student outcomes. Maintain accurate records of curriculum reviews, observations, assessment analysis and improvement actions. Prepare reports and recommendations for the Head of School and senior leadership team. Support the school in maintaining the requirements of its Pearson Edexcel approved-centre status. Contribute to preparation for accreditation, inspection and external quality-assurance processes. Ensure that school policies relating to curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning are current and implemented consistently. Participate actively in school events, parent information sessions and wider community activities. Help communicate the school's curriculum vision and educational approach to current and prospective families. Undertake a reasonable teaching commitment or provide classroom cover when required. Qualifications and Experience A recognised bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject. A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE or an equivalent international qualification. Substantial successful teaching experience within a British or international school. Experience working across more than one educational phase is highly desirable. Proven experience in curriculum coordination, academic leadership, subject leadership or whole-school improvement. Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum or an internationally recognised British curriculum. Experience with Pearson Edexcel iPrimary, iLowerSecondary, International GCSE or International A Level would be a significant advantage. Experience supporting curriculum development across Early Years, Primary and Secondary education would be highly desirable. A strong understanding of assessment, data analysis and strategies for improving student progress. Experience observing lessons, coaching teachers and delivering professional development. Experience working with multilingual learners and students from culturally diverse backgrounds. Previous leadership experience within a growing international school would be advantageous.
