Data Center Electrical Engineer

Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking a Senior Magnetics Engineer to join our team in Richmond, VA. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only. The Senior Magnetics Engineer will support the design of dry-type transformers. This role involves being an essential member of a cross-functional product development team and making design decisions to ensure seamless integration. The expected annual salary range for this role is $94000 - $138000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: Design low voltage dry-type transformers 100 KvA- 3000KvA up to 600 volts and related assemblies of various complexity. Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to identify relevant industry standards and compliance requirements impacting product design. Support product certification planning and testing process and support relevant Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs). Collaborate on design and implementation of engineering repository structure and Standard Operating Procedures for transformer/magnetics design including verification and validation. Support Production during cost/design for manufacturing analysis (DFMEA / DFSS). Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers to optimize assembly and testing processes. Continuously update your knowledge by staying current with all relevant UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA, and DOE standards. Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum three (3) years of experience in design and testing of transformers; OR a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of one (1) year work experience in design and testing of transformers Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Experience in design and testing of low voltage dry-type transformers Familiarity with mechanical design software such as Inventor or SolidWorks Experience in the design and successful manufacture of single and three phase dry-type low-voltage or similar transformers and/or reactors UL, IEEE, NEC, and NEMA standards familiarity.
