Job Description & Summary
This role offers significant responsibility, visibility, and the opportunity to be involved in shaping major investment and infrastructure outcomes across New Zealand.

Kia ora,

At PwC, our purpose is clear: to build trust in society and solve important problems.

This is a place to keep growing. You’ll learn from the best, take on meaningful challenges, and make a lasting impact for our clients, our communities, and Aotearoa.

Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role

PwC is the number one M&A advisor in New Zealand and the only big 4 firm with a broad deal advisory capability across M&A, infrastructure, debt advisory, property and transaction services offerings. This offers unique exposure to be part of New Zealand’s most important and complex transactions and infrastructure developments. Infrastructure and capital advisory is a global growth area for PwC, with strong international connectivity.

Our Corporate Finance & Infrastructure Advisory team is now seeking a high-performing professional to join the team in Auckland. This role sits at the centre of PwC’s work on large-scale, capital-intensive projects across both the private and government sectors, supporting clients to make informed investment, financing, and strategic decisions.

You will help ensure deal and infrastructure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. Working closely with senior leaders, clients, and multidisciplinary teams, you will apply strong project management, commercial acumen, and be a collaborative team member to deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Lead complex financial analysis and modelling across M&A and infrastructure engagements, working directly with clients and overseeing analyst teams to deliver commercially robust and insightful outputs.
  • Articulate key issues, risks, and opportunities, supporting senior stakeholders to make informed investment and strategic decisions.
  • Develop, review, and present high-impact materials to support governance and decision-making processes, including investment committee papers, project governance reports, briefing papers, and client presentations.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering collaboration to solve complex commercial and financial challenges, while exercising sound judgement on when to take decisive action or escalate.
  • Model PwC’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and professional standards across all client and internal engagements.

Ngā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a management capacity across advisory, finance, strategy, infrastructure, or related roles.
  • Strong financial modelling and analysis capability.
  • Experience across capital raising, M&A, valuations and infrastructure procurement processes.
  • Project finance experience is desirable including knowledge of key debt metrics and credit rating considerations.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel/macros.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages.
  • Systems thinking to identify underlying issues and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated composure and leadership in complex and uncertain environments.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • CA or CFA qualification (completed or in progress) is desirable.
