The Deli Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall planning and direction of the Deli Department. Achieve budgeted goals related to sales, margin, expenses, and inventory, and execute sales strategies that support Ucluelet Co-op's vision. Achieve established objectives in terms of brand standards, service levels, quality, and timeliness, while identifying areas for improvement. Ensure consistent and profitable operations and compliance with all applicable regulations, corporate policies, food safety standards, occupational health and safety (OHS), and Loss Prevention policies and procedures. Recruit, train, develop, coach, and motivate the department team while fostering a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement and supports the achievement of departmental goals. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily Deli operations, including ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, preparing, cooking, packaging, labeling, and merchandising products to company standards. Lead, coach, train, and develop team members while managing performance, scheduling, and daily work assignments to achieve department goals. Manage department budgets and key performance indicators, including sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and pricing. Analyze performance and recommend improvements to the Store Manager. Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining service standards, resolving customer concerns, and supporting continuous improvement. Support the Store Manager in implementing operational initiatives, promotions, pricing strategies, and merchandising standards while ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Grade 12 is preferred, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of relevant customer service experience 2+ years of deli and retail experience 1+ year of leadership experience preferred Food Safe certification is an asset. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards. Working Conditions Flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional stair climbing.
