Dental Health Support Worker to join our Childsmile team. Skilled Worker visa and Health and Care Worker visa
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Full Time, Permanent
- You will be based within Glasgow City HSCP - North East
- Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 16:30
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical oral health and infant nutrition support, advice and guidance to children, parents and carers
- Deliver home visits and community-based interventions to families requiring additional support in line with Childsmile protocols
- Support families to access dental, health and community services, including assisting vulnerable families to attend appointments when required
- Promote positive oral health behaviours through education, demonstration of toothbrushing techniques and distribution of oral health resources
- Build effective relationships with families and partner agencies including health, education and social care professionals
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of Childsmile and local health improvement initiatives
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- SVQ Level 3 in Health Care, working towards this qualification, or equivalent experience within a caring or support environment
- Experience of engaging with children, families or vulnerable individuals within health, social care or community settings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with a wide range of people
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and respond appropriately to changing circumstances
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel across a variety of community settings where required
