The Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) is seeking a Design Engineer to lead Product Health initiatives for the Gas 3500 Engine Platform. This role is responsible for driving the resolution of Virtual Design Review and Audit (VDRA) issues, managing Order Monitoring activities, and implementing Green Sheets and Shop Changes in support of New Source Introduction (NSI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. The position provides end-to-end ownership of product health concerns, from identifying and implementing interim corrective actions to developing and executing permanent corrective solutions. This includes coordinating design changes, updating Pricing Arrangements and Price Lists, and collaborating with component Design Control teams to ensure products deliver superior quality, reliability, and performance. The successful candidate will work closely with NPI leads, product group teams, manufacturing, and key strategic suppliers to develop and implement component and system-level solutions that support program objectives. Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical skills are essential to effectively collaborate across diverse global teams, drive issue resolution, and ensure successful project delivery Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of relevant work experience progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required. Minimum of 3+ years of of VDRA resolution, Green sheet and Shop change order update, ARC creation experience Good functional knowledge on Engine platform & subsystems Ability to perform complex assignments, strong analytical skills with good interpersonal & global collaboration skills. Project management and Knowledge on NPI, NTI & CPI process with excellent communications skills are necessary. Self-starter with good multitasking skills to optimize and deliver desired results under challenging requirements of quality, cost (development and product), and timelines Willingness to travel globally as per project requirements are required. Top Candidates Will Also Have: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Experience in working with global teams Pro-E and Cat Engineering Standards experience Skill Descriptors Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level Basic Understanding: Explains where to locate basic help facilities and troubleshooting guides. Discusses basic concepts behind a systematic approach to solving technical problems. Identifies available resources and support systems for troubleshooting. Describes problem identification, reporting and escalation procedures.
