Waste Pro is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic A (Heavy Duty Fleet Technician) to join our Fort Pierce, Florida maintenance team. What We Offer Competitive Pay $35.00–$43.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and qualifications $10,000 Sign-On Bonus paid in quarterly installments (subject to program eligibility requirements) Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates Career Growth ASE Certification reimbursement Higher pay for ASE-certified technicians Master Technician Achievement Bonus Ongoing OEM and manufacturer training Advancement opportunities within a growing organization Technician Benefits Monthly tool allowance (+$100 per month) $200 annual boot allowance Company-provided uniforms and PPE Advanced diagnostic equipment What You’ll Do As a Diesel Mechanic A, you’ll perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Waste Pro’s fleet of heavy-duty refuse vehicles, including: Mack; Peterbilt; Freightliner; Autocar; Heil; McNeilus; Diesel, CNG, LPG, and Hybrid-powered vehicles Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, and emissions components Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections Utilize OEM diagnostic software and onboard computer systems Complete repairs using factory service manuals and manufacturer specifications Perform welding and fabrication as needed Mentor and assist other technicians Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and on time Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow OSHA regulations and Waste Pro safety standards Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to maximize fleet uptime Qualifications We’re looking for candidates who have: 3–5+ years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience repairing Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrains, and emissions systems Welding and fabrication experience (preferred) Basic computer skills for diagnostics and repair documentation A strong commitment to safety and OSHA compliance The ability to obtain seven ASE Certifications (or equivalent) within 36 months CDL Requirement CDL Class B preferred Candidates without CDL must be able to obtain one within company guidelines Outstanding Benefits At Waste Pro, we invest in our employees, our benefits include: Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Insurance with a pathway to FREE healthcare Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Supplemental Insurance FREE, company-paid Group Life Insurance 401(k) with generous company match Paid Vacation Paid Holidays Paid Sick Time Employee Assistance Program Career advancement opportunities Why Waste Pro? WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Normal setting for this job is: Inside and Outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
