Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Sector is looking for a Director Mission Assurance to lead the Quality and Mission Assurance organization for the Land and Maritime Sensors and Naval & Oceanic Systems Business Units within the Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability Division. This leadership role will be full time on site at the Linthicum, MD (BWI) campus. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to lead in a dynamic engineering and production environment. There are significant responsibilities and a high level of visibility with internal executive leadership and customer-facing organizations. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following: Define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance. Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products and services that meet all contractual requirements and business objectives. Drive the continuous improvement of people (to include training & development), products, processes, systems and services through the application of world class manufacturing to include innovative technologies, lean principles, six-sigma projects, and common best practices. Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with mission assurance programs, policies, processes, procedures and that the performance and quality of products/processes conform to established standards, specifications and agency guidelines. Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance. Providing leadership that fosters an inclusive, motivated and engaged work culture. Support the development phase of programs by assuring engineering products and processes conform to internal and customer requirements. Work directly with cross functional partners such as Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to ensure that inspections, process control analyses and audits are conducted on a continuing basis to enforce requirements and compliance. Ensuring the Quality & Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other functional processes are consistent with industry capability maturity models and QMS standards (AS9100). Provide direct oversight into all efforts related to design and factory accountability. Review trend metrics and analyze misses to implement the appropriate improvements to improve performance. Specific emphasis on production program efficiency. Standardize and facilitate root cause / corrective action efforts to resolve quality issues. Collaborate closely with Quality & Mission Assurance and Global Supply Chain (GSC) leaders to provide strategic thought leadership and preventive solutions to ensure the quality of procured material and services. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of related experience as defined below; OR a Master’s degree and 8 or more years of related experience as defined below: *Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in aircraft, aerospace, manufacturing, quality, program management, engineering, and/or business management related functions 5 or more years of experience as a senior technical leader, manager, or other team lead roles Experienced in Managing Supplier Performance across a large set of diverse and complex program types. Quality Engineering and Management experience across the full program/product lifecycle. Active US Government Top Secret Clearance; OR DoE equivalent Preferred Qualifications: MS or MBA degree 15 or more years of experience in Quality Engineering or Mission Assurance specific roles 5 or more years of experience in metric development to assess process health and performance, monitoring large programs/projects Extensive Leadership experience, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense industry Primary Level Salary Range: $194,600.00 - $292,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
