Arturo Palomba Gallery LLC is seeking an experienced Director of Art Provenance & Due Diligence to lead research, provenance verification and transaction due diligence across international acquisitions, consignments and private sales.

The successful candidate will help ensure that artworks handled by the Gallery meet rigorous standards of provenance, documentation, authenticity research and responsible market practice.

This is a senior specialist position combining art-historical research, market knowledge and risk assessment.

• Conduct detailed provenance research on artworks.
• Review ownership histories and supporting documentation.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies and potential transaction risks.
• Coordinate due diligence for acquisitions, consignments and private sales.
• Research exhibition histories, literature, archives and catalogues raisonnés.
• Work with artist foundations, archives, authentication committees and recognised specialists.
• Review available information concerning authenticity and attribution.
• Coordinate appropriate checks relating to stolen or disputed artworks.
• Support legal counsel on ownership, provenance and transaction documentation.
• Prepare confidential provenance and due-diligence reports.
• Maintain rigorous research records and documentation standards.
• Advise Gallery management before significant acquisitions and transactions.
• Liaise with collectors, galleries, auction houses and institutional specialists.
• Monitor evolving international art-market compliance and professional standards.

• Degree in Art History, Cultural Heritage, Law or a related discipline.
• Master's degree or PhD is advantageous.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrable experience in provenance or art-historical research.
• Strong understanding of international art-market practices.
• Excellent documentary and archival research skills.
• High level of discretion and professional integrity.
• Excellent written English.
• Additional European languages are highly desirable.
• Availability to work in Geneva and travel internationally.
