Based in Reno, Nevada , this is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced prefabrication executive who understands how to transform prefab into a strategic operational advantage. The Director of Prefabrication will be responsible for the overall strategy, development, execution, and continued expansion of the organization's prefabrication capabilities. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, operations, preconstruction, project management, field leadership, and other key stakeholders to improve productivity, consistency, quality, and project execution. We are looking for more than someone who can manage a prefab facility. We are looking for a leader who can build, scale, innovate, and create a best-in-class prefabrication operation capable of supporting significant organizational growth. Why This Opportunity? Prefabrication is becoming increasingly important to the future of electrical construction. As projects become larger and more complex and skilled labor remains one of the industry's greatest constraints, sophisticated prefabrication can dramatically improve productivity, safety, quality, schedule performance, and predictability. This position provides an opportunity to lead that transformation. The successful Director will have the opportunity to: Develop and execute the organization's long-term prefabrication strategy. Build and scale prefabrication capabilities to support continued company growth. Influence how projects are planned and executed from preconstruction through field installation. Introduce new technologies, processes, equipment, and production methodologies. Improve labor productivity and reduce field installation requirements. Build and develop a high-performing prefabrication organization. Partner directly with executive and operational leadership. Establish measurable standards for quality, production, cost, and performance. Help create a scalable prefabrication platform capable of supporting complex construction projects. For a leader who has successfully built or transformed prefabrication operations, this represents an opportunity to make a significant organizational impact. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for all prefabrication operations and initiatives. Develop and execute a comprehensive prefabrication strategy aligned with company growth and operational objectives. Lead the continued development, expansion, and optimization of prefabrication facilities and capabilities. Partner with preconstruction, estimating, operations, project management, VDC/BIM, and field leadership to identify prefabrication opportunities early in the project lifecycle. Establish standardized processes for identifying, designing, planning, producing, tracking, delivering, and installing prefabricated assemblies. Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency, labor productivity, quality, safety, and cost. Develop production planning, scheduling, capacity-management, and workflow systems. Establish KPIs and performance metrics for prefabrication operations. Monitor production output, labor performance, quality, cost, schedule, and operational efficiency. Evaluate and implement technology, automation, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing methodologies that improve productivity. Partner with VDC/BIM teams to strengthen constructability planning and digital-to-fabrication workflows. Work closely with project and field leadership to ensure prefabricated assemblies meet installation requirements and project schedules. Develop standardized assemblies, kits, workflows, and best practices that can be replicated across projects. Improve material flow, inventory management, logistics, staging, and delivery to project sites. Establish quality-control processes and production standards. Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead prefabrication managers, supervisors, production personnel, and support teams. Develop training and career-development programs for prefabrication personnel. Evaluate future facility, equipment, technology, staffing, and capital requirements. Promote a culture centered on innovation, continuous improvement, safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence. Qualifications Significant leadership experience in electrical construction prefabrication strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience leading, building, scaling, or transforming a substantial prefabrication operation. Strong understanding of electrical construction means, methods, materials, assemblies, and field installation. Experience supporting large and complex electrical construction projects. Mission-critical, data center, commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, or other complex project experience is highly desirable. Strong understanding of manufacturing-style production planning, workflow, quality control, and continuous improvement. Experience integrating prefabrication with VDC/BIM, preconstruction, estimating, project management, and field operations . Demonstrated ability to improve labor productivity and project performance through prefabrication. Experience developing operational KPIs, production metrics, and accountability systems. Strong understanding of material management, logistics, inventory, and supply-chain coordination. Experience evaluating and implementing automation, equipment, technology, and process improvements. Proven ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams. Strong financial and business acumen with an understanding of ROI, capital investment, labor economics, and operational performance. Exceptional communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented construction environment. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent electrical construction and prefabrication experience will be strongly considered. The Ideal Leader The ideal candidate is a builder, innovator, and operator . This individual understands both sides of prefabrication: the manufacturing discipline required inside the facility and the realities of electrical installation in the field. They understand that successful prefab does not begin when a work order reaches the shop. It begins during estimating, design, coordination, and preconstruction . The right leader will know how to bring together VDC/BIM, preconstruction, operations, procurement, project management, prefab, and field teams around a common strategy. Most importantly, this individual will have the vision and leadership ability to move prefabrication beyond a support function and develop it into a core competitive advantage for the organization. Compensation & Leadership Package The organization is prepared to offer an exceptional compensation package for the right leader. Base Salary: $250,000+ Performance Bonus Comprehensive benefits package Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates Significant opportunity to build and influence the organization's long-term prefabrication strategy Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, leadership background, and overall alignment with the position.
