Document Controller

We are currently seeking an experienced Document Controller to join a major hyperscale data centre construction project in Helsinki, Finland. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day document control function, ensuring all project documentation is accurately registered, controlled, distributed and maintained, while supporting the project team and ensuring compliance with project procedures and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to completion.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, valuations, forecasts and cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications and commercial documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the wider project team.
• Support the Commercial Manager and Project Manager with commercial reporting and decision-making.
• Ensure all commercial activities are delivered in line with company procedures and contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or a related discipline.
• Experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement and cost control.
• Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple commercial priorities.
• Data centre / mission-critical construction experience is highly desirable.
