Req Id : 115550 Opportunity Type : Staff Relocation eligible : [[custReloAvailable]] Full time/Part time : Full-Time Contract Hire Only for this Project : Visa Sponsorship Available: [[custVisaSponsorship]] Job Summary The Electrical Systems Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical commissioning activities during construction completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup phases. The role ensures that all electrical systems are tested, commissioned, and handed over safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The successful candidate will work closely with Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Maintenance, Vendors, and EPC Contractors to support the safe startup and reliable operation of facilities. #LI-CY1 (This is a 12-month agency contract position with potential for extension, subject to project needs.) Key Responsibilities Assists in the development of startup packages as required. Tracks and controls all documentation required for proper maintenance of the startup packages. Participates in the preparation and maintenance of a detailed startup schedule. Proactively plans for startup activities and major milestones (such as major equipment, chemical cleaning, steamblow, or demonstration and performance testing). Manages construction completion, turnover to startup, startup turnover to operations, and final turnover to the client. Assists in the development of clear startup procedures as required to satisfy the contract and/or coordinate the startup effort. Assists in the advanced planning and preparation for startup activities and major milestones. Participates in the development and implementation of programs for the control of; spares, consumables, outstanding work and deficiencies lists, etc. Executes the startup effort ensuring compliance with the associated specifications and contracts and ultimately resulting in an efficient and timely turnover to the client. Completes thorough system walk downs/reviews to establish the completion status of systems and identify outstanding items to be completed. Responsible lead for plant equipment and systems within discipline capacity. The primary point-of-contact for all system functions through startup and operation of the plant. Activities include but are not limited to: Verifying systems are installed per design. Confirming design operational feasibility. Recording as built engineering changes on drawings. Ensuring proper setup and testing of equipment as per supplier requirements. Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountabilities. Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Individual contributor with no subordinates. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, or Operations within Oil & Gas, LNG, FPSO industries. Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical commissioning activities for major industrial facilities. Proven experience supporting large-scale LNG projects during construction, commissioning, startup, and handover phases. Experience with HV, MV, and LV electrical systems commissioning. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Previous LNG facility commissioning and startup experience. Experience working on greenfield or brownfield projects. Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other international electrical standards. Professional Engineering registration or equivalent certification is preferred. Certifications OSHA 10 Hour Training Work Environment/Physical Demands Physical Demands: • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. • Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas. • See and hear naturally or with correction. • Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. • Requires repetitive movement. • May require work above 5 feet in height. • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Work Environment: • Typical construction site environment: • Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions. • Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. • Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. • Work around hazardous equipment. • Typical office environment. • This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
