EMEA Product Developement Engineer

As a Product Development Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the next generation of our products within a dynamic, innovative engineering environment. Your work will directly influence how we design, improve, and deliver solutions for our customers across the region. Acting both independently and as part of cross‑functional project teams, you will transform technical requirements into tangible concepts and fully developed products—supporting everything from ideation to testing and documentation.

You will understand and determine product technical specifications; create concepts and develop designs including generating conceptual drawings, conducting trade studies, risk assessments, BOMs and documentation.

This role is ideal for someone who is curious, collaborative, and eager to grow their engineering career in a multinational environment; who is comfortable working hands‑on with product development and enjoys turning ideas into real, manufacturable solutions.

This role is based in Chomutov and requires on-site presence and occasional travel to other Camfil sites, customer facilities or test institutes.

You will:

• Develop new product concepts based on specifications and project priorities.
• Drive standardized and modular design approaches to improve efficiency and assembly.
• Lead and participate in testing activities to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Create general assembly and detailed fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
• Produce accurate bills of materials within our ERP system.
• Prepare product documentation such as user manuals and quality routines.
• Support training of service and quality control teams.
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with purchasing, manufacturing engineering, production, and quality teams.
• Participate in product certification processes and conducting trade studies, FMEA, risk assessments, and DFMA activities.
• Travel to production plants, customer sites, and test institutes when needed.

About You

• Education in engineering (HNC, Bachelor’s degree, or similar)
• Experience in machinery design, supply, installation, or sheet‑metal fabrication
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in 3D CAD—ideally SolidWorks—for components, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
• Experience working with PDM/MRP/ERP systems, preferably Dynamics 365
• Solid technical know‑how with relevant hardware and software tools
• Knowledge of CE/ATEX regulations, electrical wiring, pneumatics, or process instrumentation is a plus
• Fluency in English and for both communication and documentation and strong command of Czech
