Northrop Grumman Aeronautical Systems (NGAS) is looking for a Support Equipment Design Engineering Manager 2 at the Melbourne FL location. Candidate will be responsible for the execution and operations associated with the design, manufacturing, testing, and sell off of Peculiar Support Equipment associated with an aircraft program, and the procurement of Common Support Equipment. Responsibilities include developing a team to establish, plan, and deliver recommended solutions to functional requirements associated with program and project requirements. Roles and Responsibilities also include: Manage design concepts and lead preliminary and critical design reviews. Mentor development of test documentation. Oversee integration, validation, and verification activities. Collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure effective coordination. Develop and execute program schedules and budgets in alignment with established processes and directives. Plan and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) for assigned work packages and subsystems. Monitor and report program performance across cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality. Manage related groups of work packages on large system development contracts. Establish goals based on objective‑oriented tasking. Demonstrate general competence in Logistics and Product Support, including: Supportability Engineering Reliability and Maintainability Technical Publications Training Supply Support Support Equipment Design Engineering Work effectively and be accountable for tasking in an integrated work‑share environment. Provide detailed reporting to upper leadership. Support proposal and estimating activities, including task and statement‑of‑work development. Provide oversight of projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group. Intervene as needed to help meet schedules or resolve technical and operational problems. Achieve results through lower‑level supervisors and/or experienced employees who operate with significant autonomy. Motivate, advise, and guide senior employees to accomplish objectives. Maintain frequent contact with internal stakeholders and external customer representatives at various management levels regarding operations, schedules, and project phases. Conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings with internal and external representatives on operational and project specifics. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math from an accredited institution with at least 9 years of relevant experience or Master's in STEM and at least 7 years of relevant experience 5 years of demonstrated experience executing and leading mechanical and/or electrical mechanism design, manufacturing, and test efforts Experience in proposal and estimating. Experience and hands-on knowledge of IPT/Program Management processes (CAM processes, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort and risk and opportunity management). Must have ability to obtain and maintain Final US Government Secret clearance. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience and a proven record of leading engineering teams in developing Support Equipment that meet quality, performance, cost, and schedule requirements. Demonstrated hands-on experience in requirements management inclusive of development, derivation, validation and verification of requirements. Experience working on both classified and unclassified Military programs. Understanding the development and mentor for leadership and performance. Experience leading a large department in a matrix environment. Practice with earned value management (EVMS) and internal tools (i.e. Integrated Management Operating Model (IMOM)). Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
