In this position the Engineering Program Leader will be a member of the Advanced Engineering Design team responsible for planning and executing innovative both internally funded and externally commercially funded New Plant Introduction (NPI) development programs in support of next generation nuclear plants. In this role you will lead the technical program, executing the business product and/or project strategy by driving interfaces, coordinating, expediting, and closing open issues and concern across the program team on a day-to-day basis. You will lead teams across multiple engineering disciplines, business project and product teams, sourcing, quality, research centers, partners, subcontractors, and customers. You will be responsible for full technical program ownership, ensuring both on-time and on-budget delivery of new product development programs. You will be an active contributor to the business vision/strategy into short-term, tactical actions as well as long-term strategic programs. The Program Leader position is to be filled by a recognized leader in the business. This person will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives associated with the product program, and be a visible champion of the product development. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: Report solid line to the General Manager, Design Engineering. Provide program leadership for a diverse team being accountable for on-time and on-budget delivery of design product programs. Establish and manage the technical interface between all internal and external parties involved in the program. Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders. Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues. Work with functional engineering teams to build estimates, schedules, manage change orders and responses to corrective actions. Coordinate engineering interfaces and drive timely resolution of technical issues with multiple engineering disciplines, business product management, partners, subcontractors, and customers. Report on program progress, performance, and manpower utilization with particular attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions. Work hand-in-hand with Product and/or Projects, Finance and Operations to actively manage budgetary risks and opportunities through the year. Support the development of the business vision/strategy for new plant initiatives and strategic programs. Partner with business teams and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders across GVH. Provide guidance to leadership on management of external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions. Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH. Ensure adherence to GVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related science or technical discipline At least 8 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience At least 6 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry Desired Characteristics: Practitioner and / or expert of Lean practices. Experience with European customers, projects and combined heat and power applications. Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance, change agent able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact. Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly to articulate and then operationalize the business vision/strategy into tactile actions. Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change mgmt) EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant Understanding of nuclear industry and technology Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $150,900.00 and $289,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
