English Teacher

We are seeking a Secondary English Teacher for an international school based in Guangzhou. This is available from the upcoming 2026-27 school year in August 2026. About the school Located in Guangzhou’s Nansha district, this non-profit school provides a modern international learning environment for students from kindergarten through high school. As a school mainly serving children from Hong Kong families, it currently has over 1,500 students and combines a Hong Kong-style educational approach with international curriculum pathways, including HKDSE, IGCSE and A-Level programs, with plans to further develop its international curriculum offering. Set on a spacious campus in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the school is well positioned near major transport links and universities, offering students a broad, multilingual, and globally minded education. Job responsibilities Teach the subject of English Language to secondary school students, ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experience Prepare lessons and lectures, develop teaching materials, design and correct assessments, and write report comments Support students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, listening, critical thinking, and academic communication skills Prepare students for relevant curriculum requirements and assessments, including international and/or Hong Kong curriculum pathways where applicable Collaboratively teach alongside fellow educators, actively contributing to the development and enhancement of the school's curriculum Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so that all learners can succeed and improve Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents and caregivers Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment that encourages student confidence and participation Participate in school activities, meetings, professional development, and other duties as arranged by the school Bachelor degree or above in English, English Literature, Education, or a related subject Teaching certificate, such as PGCE, QTS, M.Ed, or equivalent Two or more years teaching experience in English Language or a related subject Experience teaching secondary school students is preferred Experience with HKDSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB, or similar international curriculum is preferred Must be eligible to work in China Monthly salary for 30,000 to 35,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications Annual flight allowance Free accommodation provided in talent apartments, with water and electricity subsidies Free shuttle buses to and from campus Three daily meals provided free of charge, including Chinese, Western, and vegetarian options Personalised support with visa, translation, transport, bank card, internet, and settling-in arrangements Public holidays, school holidays, winter holiday, and summer vacation Basic medical and health insurance Employee gifts, staff activities, birthday events, team building, and group fitness activities Supportive leadership team and humanistic management style Tuition fee waiver in line with the school’s admissions policy
