We are recruiting an experienced English Teacher on behalf of a well-funded, government-backed school in Abu Dhabi that is building an international teaching faculty. The role

You will teach English Language and Literature across Grades 5 to 12, developing students' reading, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills. The school's senior grades follow an international pathway to Cambridge IGCSE. You will bring grammar, literature, composition and lively discussion into a classroom of curious, bilingual Emirati students.

• Deliver high-quality English lessons across a range of abilities, using direct instruction, discussion, group work and digital tools.
• Plan lessons aligned to the school's English curriculum, incorporating literature, grammar, vocabulary and composition.
• Design and administer assessments, analyse results and adapt instruction to move every student forward.
• Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills through literature and writing.
• Collaborate with the Head of English and colleagues on departmental goals and interdisciplinary projects.
• Maintain regular parent communication and participate fully in the school community, including extracurricular activities such as debates, literary clubs or writing competitions.

What you must bring

• Degree in English, English Literature, English Education or a closely related field — minimum 2:1 (a 2:2 is considered where a postgraduate qualification has been achieved).
• Professional teaching qualification — BEd or subject degree plus PGCE.
• Current SACE registration.
• Minimum 3 years of classroom experience teaching English.
• Native or highly fluent English — the medium of instruction is English and verbal communication clarity is essential.
• Strong written communication and a genuine love of the subject.

Advantageous

• Experience teaching a British curriculum, IB or other recognised international curriculum (Cambridge, IEB). Other international curricula considered.
• IGCSE or A-Level teaching experience.
• Prior experience in multicultural or international school environments, particularly UAE or GCC.
• Experience supporting students in academic writing competitions, debate or literary enrichment.
