We are seeking an enthusiastic Environmental Science student to join our team for a co-op term beginning in January 2027. Our preference is for an 8- month term, although applicants seeking a 4-month term will also be considered. About the Opportunity Working alongside both experienced environmental consultants and recent graduates, you may contribute to projects involving fisheries and wildlife management, environmental assessments and mitigation planning, contaminated site assessments, and regulatory applications for a variety of projects. These opportunities will help you develop practical knowledge of environmental regulations and strengthen your skills in environmental assessment and mitigation planning while working with a diverse range of clients and communities, including municipal and provincial governments, Indigenous communities, and land development clients. In this role, you will: Conduct field assessments with team members, including fish and fish habitat assessments, pre-construction wildlife surveys, construction monitoring, water quality and soil sampling, hydrometric monitoring, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. Review and compile environmental information from databases, analyze data, and summarize field conditions to support technical reports. Support environmental management plans, overview reports, impact assessments, monitoring programs, terrestrial and aquatic habitat assessments, fish and wildlife surveys and salvages, wetland assessments, and technical reporting. Prepare permit applications and help coordinate approvals from local, provincial, and federal regulatory agencies. Support public and community engagement initiatives alongside your local team. Collaborate with project teams to assess, monitor, and mitigate potential effects on environmental valued components and support regulatory compliance. Build your knowledge and skills in environmental legislation, impact assessment, mitigation planning, client communication, technical writing, field survey standards, health and safety, and professional networking. About You We are looking for a student in their 3rd or 4th year of a Biology, Natural Resource Science, Environmental Science, or related program who is comfortable working outdoors in a range of weather conditions. Eligibility for registration with a professional association upon graduation is an asset, as is related experience. Valid Class 5 driver’s licence – A valid licence is required to travel to project sites.
