ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines - the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

As the Estimating & Resourcing Lead, located in either Adelaide, SA or Henderson, WA, you will drive the development of cost estimates, bids and resource plans that support key Nuclear Capability and Development (NCD) programs and business decisions. You will lead estimating governance, resource and funding reconciliation, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver accurate, data-driven outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will also mentor and develop team capability, helping to strengthen business management practices and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development and delivery of cost estimates, bids and resource plans to support NCD programs and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain work breakdown structures (WBS), cost models, basis of estimate documentation and associated estimating artefacts.
  • Coordinate estimate reviews, governance activities and stakeholder engagement to ensure accurate, robust and fit-for-purpose estimating outcomes.
  • Manage resource, recruitment and funding reconciliation processes, providing reporting and analysis to support workforce planning and budget management.
  • Prepare governance documentation, management reports, briefing papers and business communications for key stakeholders.
  • Provide advice on estimating, resource planning and governance, fostering effective collaboration across project and business teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing estimating, reporting and resource management processes, tools and systems.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in estimating, resource management, PMO, governance, business management or project support roles, preferably within Defence, Government or a complex industry environment.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering estimates, bids and business cases, with an understanding of resource planning and funding management.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data, solve problems and support informed decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

  • Up to 10 days additional leave every year so you can rest and recharge.
  • Generous parental leave so you can give your family the focus it deserves.
