Role Definition Performs maintenance of equipment while ensuring safety and performance standards. Responsibilities • Communicating major issues in equipment performance and maintenance to the managers; Supporting the team in implementing robust solutions to improve overall efficiency, yield, and uptime of the equipment. • Complying with safety, health, and environmental guidelines and participating in continuous improvement of the procedures while performing equipment maintenance. • Inspecting machinery and equipment to identify problems and potential solutions, and performing appropriate troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance procedures. • Tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance parts consumption, and scheduled preventive maintenance procedures using Computerized Maintenance Management System. Skill Descriptors 5S Housekeeping: Knowledge of 5S Housekeeping concepts; ability to design, implement and sustain 5S housekeeping strategies to ensure standardization of workplace operations. Level Basic Understanding: • Explains the rationale for using the 5S methodology to organize a manufacturing workspace. • Describes the five foundational concepts of the methodology: seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke. • Gives examples of how 5S workspace usage decisions are made. • Defines the term '5S Job Cycle'. Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Level Basic Understanding: • Explains the value of a disciplined approach to problem solving. • Describes problem reporting and escalation practices. • Utilizes accepted procedures for problem analysis and resolution. • Identifies key aspects of problem-solving techniques used in own area. Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner. Level Basic Understanding: • Describes the maintenance indicators associated with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). • Explains the history, concept, and objectives of TPM. • Identifies the pillars of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). • Outlines the similarities and differences between Total Quality Management (TQM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Level Basic Understanding: • Describes non-verbal behaviors that influence the interpretation of the message. • Cites examples of effective and ineffective communications. • Explains the importance of effective business communication. • Speaks/writes using correct language, mechanics, and gestures.
