We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Facility Manager – Karratha to lead our repair operations across the Pilbara region of Australia. Reporting directly to the Director, Service Operations , this is an exciting opportunity for a strong operational leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and make a significant impact within a global OEM. Please note, this is a residential role based in Karratha. Relocation assistance is available for the successful applicant. About the Role As the Regional Facility Manager – Karratha , you will provide operational leadership for our repair facility, supporting customers across the entire west coast of Australia. You will play a key role in leading organisational change, implementing policies and procedures, improving planning processes, and driving operational performance. Working closely with product lines, planning teams, supply chain and the broader management team, you will ensure our repair operations continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for both our customers and our people. This role requires a proactive leader who can successfully balance operational execution with strategic planning, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement and high performance. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage Metso’s repair facility in Karratha. Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements. Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient production processes and seamless workflow across workshop functions. Lead, coach, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary workforce. Manage workforce planning, recruitment, training, performance management and succession planning activities. Build and maintain a high-performing, engaged and accountable team culture. Implement operational improvements, policies, business processes and best-practice standards. Lead organisational change initiatives and continuous improvement programs. Manage production planning, resource allocation and workshop performance to meet customer commitments. Collaborate closely with product lines, supply chain, warehousing and parts planning teams. Oversee warehousing operations, inventory control and parts stocking strategies to ensure optimal stock availability and operational efficiency. Manage large-scale repair projects, schedules and customer requirements. Monitor operational performance, productivity, quality, cost and delivery metrics. Drive quality control processes and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance customer outcomes and operational performance. Prepare and manage annual operating budgets, monitor expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality or service levels. Identify and resolve operational challenges, workforce issues and production bottlenecks in a timely and effective manner. Develop and execute strategic plans to improve operational performance, capacity, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Work collaboratively with other departments including logistics, procurement, sales, product support and service operations. Provide regular reporting and operational updates to senior leadership. About You You are a highly motivated operational leader who can work autonomously while building strong relationships across the business. You have a passion for leading people, improving processes, delivering results and creating a high-performance culture. You possess strong commercial acumen, exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to drive operational excellence while balancing customer expectations, workforce engagement and business objectives. Essential Requirements Proven experience in a similar leadership role within mining, construction, heavy industry, manufacturing or repair services. Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong operational management, production planning and resource planning experience. Experience managing warehousing operations, inventory control and parts stocking activities. Demonstrated experience in quality management, quality assurance and implementing quality improvement programs. Experience preparing and managing annual operating budgets and monitoring financial performance. Proven ability to identify efficiencies and deliver cost-saving initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage operational challenges, workforce issues and production bottlenecks. Proven leadership experience managing large teams across multiple functions and locations. Frontline Management Training or equivalent leadership qualification. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Experience recruiting, training, developing and managing employees. Strong understanding of inventory management, parts planning and workshop operational systems. Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with senior leaders, customers and cross-functional teams. Australian working rights. Desirable Experience working with mineral processing equipment. Previous experience within an OEM or repair services environment. Experience working with enterprise business systems such as SAP and Microsoft Dynamics. Understanding of workshop operational systems through SAP, Dynamics or similar ERP platforms. Formal qualifications in Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management or a related discipline.
