The Ravines Medical Group has been providing comprehensive primary care services across the Halifax region for over 10 years. With four medical centres and eight pharmacies, the organization supports a collaborative, team‑based approach to family medicine in modern, well‑equipped facilities. Ravines emphasizes high‑quality care, strong community partnerships, and a commitment to accessible healthcare. The Group handles the administrative and business operations so clinicians can focus on patient care while maintaining autonomy over schedules, clinical interests, and appointment structure. Ravines supports ongoing professional development, CME involvement, and the flexibility for physicians to pursue additional assignments such as hospitalist or long‑term care work. The Spryfield Ravines Clinic, located at 205 Herring Cove Road, is seeking a family physician to join its collaborative team of eight physicians, one nurse practitioner, and two family practice nurses. The incoming provider will assume the panel of a recently retired physician and deliver comprehensive primary care to a diverse patient population, including individuals with chronic disease, mental health concerns, and addiction co‑morbidities. This position offers independence, strong clinical support, and opportunities for teaching, collaboration, and procedural medicine within a highly supported practice environment. Highlights Collaborative Team Model: Weekly physician meetings, shared clinical discussions, and supportive interdisciplinary environment. Duty Clinic Rotation Only: No call schedule; physicians participate in a weekday duty clinic for one hour on a rotational basis. Strong Operational Support: Director of Clinical Operations available weekly or as needed Longstanding administrative staff Dedicated billing coordinator with weekly submission and bi‑weekly physician pay Clinical Infrastructure: Fully equipped procedure room Autoclave and sterilization systems Ability to order additional equipment as required Access to dermatologist and community specialists EMR: TELUS Med Access across all Ravines Medical Group clinics. Teaching Opportunities: Family medicine residents and medical students regularly placed at the clinic. Independent Contractor Model: Full autonomy over schedule and clinical scope. Responsibilities ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness be accountable for appropriate workload and practice continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and/or community provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care build to capacity within the first two years operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority work toward same day or next day access for the practice population work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community’s health needs work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members Provide comprehensive family medicine services to an existing panel, including assuming patients from a recently retired provider. Deliver care across a broad range of primary care needs Participate in the clinic’s weekday duty clinic rotation (one hour per day), serving patients attached to the practice. Participate in weekly physician meetings to discuss patient care and complex cases. Option to contribute to the clinic’s teaching environment by supervising family medicine residents and medical students (if interested). Option to participate in CME and professional development opportunities with the physician team. Expected Hours permanent, full time Remuneration Remuneration type is either Longitudinal Family Medicine payment model or a Fee for Service payment model.
