Project Overview: Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas. Job Summary: The Field Construction Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules that support the safe and efficient execution of construction activities. The role works closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to coordinate work sequences, establish milestones, identify schedule interfaces and constraints, and assess schedule impacts and risks. As a scheduling specialist, the Field Construction Planner provides expertise in schedule development, progress measurement, critical path analysis, and performance monitoring, helping to ensure project objectives are achieved in accordance with the project execution strategy. Initially, the position will be based on the project site and the Gdańsk project office. Major Responsibilities: Identifies scope of schedule activities. Determines schedule dates for work activities within a discipline area or specialty. Determines milestones to support project schedule. Works with project personnel to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan. Conforms work sequence and activity durations per project’s execution plan for a specific discipline or specialty. Determines inter-discipline constraints or interfaces that define activity sequences. Assists discipline groups in determining what information is required from other disciplines to support schedule activities and how to interface with the assigned discipline or specialty. Provides schedule knowledge to assist in discipline planning and interfacing with others. Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties. Assists in the development of requirements for updating and monitoring the schedule. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or international equivalent) and at least 2 years of professional experience or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and at least 6 years of professional work experience. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.
