Financial Analyst - Sales & Marketing

POSITION PURPOSE: This position provides analysis and reporting of financial, operational, and marketing information to support the Sales & Marketing organization in meeting and/or exceeding established goals. Experience Minimum of 1 year of financial experience Knowledge and experience in general accounting principles and practices Experience with dynamic financial software is preferred. Skills Strong analytical and organizational skills, self-motivated and proactive. Aptitude for accuracy, attention to detail, and working under deadlines. Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial and business journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients and co-workers to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public. Ability to build effective business relationships and work in a team environment. Capable of handling and protecting highly confidential information. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts like exponents, algebra, quadratic equations, and basic logic functions such as if-then-else statements. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical and financial math calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Education Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties may include some or all of the following: Set up customer branding, pricing, shipping location, available products, and activate accounts Maintain marketing agreements and programs for customers Track monthly sales and maintain monthly schedule of accruals based on marketing agreements, making appropriate journal entries. Maintain promotion management system to track all promotions and record appropriate monthly accruals based on shipment of orders providing analysis of promotional trends, identifying and communicating trends and opportunities. Create program payments and route for appropriate approvals Reconcile account balances Communicate and help to resolve any discrepancies related to customer deductions based on marketing agreements.
