Job Purpose Coordinate model fixture development from concept to mass production readiness for the manufacturing department. Collaborate with design from feasibility through design phase to achieve a product that can be manufactured with-in the factory’s capabilities while working with the Manufacturing Management Center to prepare and execute the trial phase of the new model development. At this career level, you are in charge of delivering straightforward engineering assignments with available guidance, while expanding the expanding the breadth of your technical knowledge and starting to deepen your expertise. Key Accountabilities Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of technical experts to ensure a robust fixture design for mass production combining manufacturing requirements, factory characteristics and project targets. Conduct feasibilities studies of fixturing and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts and manufacturing processes. Identify past model problem history, opportunities for cost savings and safety concerns. Collaborate with product designers to develop most efficient manufacturing process. Develop and manage project schedule and budgets to meet targets. Track and report project progress and status to achieve results. Understand and routinely communicate project information to team and customers. Facilitate prototype approvals, coordinate supplier sourcing, and complete confirmations with on-line trials through Manufacturing Management Center buy-off. Through the New Model development, create and maintain all fixture documents, files, and tracking. Prepare moderately complex documentation to be reviewed by more senior engineers. Facilitate collaborative problem-solving activity with team members from final assembly factory, regional new model, and product design. Develop own expertise and capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or equivalent related experience. Minimum Experience: 0-2 years relevant experience. Other Job-Specific Skills: Catia, 3D Design, 2D Drawing, Excel, PowerPoint, Read Drawings, Honda Issue Management System, Change Request Form knowledge, Frame Assembly Line constraints. Working Conditions Generally, first shift production hours, occasional split/second shift support required. 0-5 hours OT weekly. 20% Fast-paced high-energy manufacturing environment, 80% office environment.
